NYS Says Ticket Hoax Contains A Virus

In the New York State Capitol of Albany, the State Police have issued a warning that a hoax email notice regarding a speeding ticket has been circulated around the internet.   They warn that the virus-laden email can cause significant damage to your computer.  It is recommended by some experts that the email not be open and that an anti-virus program be installed on your computer at all times.

The bogus email has varied according to some recipients, but largely, the subject line of the email will read, "Uniform Traffic Ticket."   It will have a zip file and make some reference that it is from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Investigators in the State have not made a full identification of the virus but they are diligently working on it.
