Information about Dunkirk and the Court

Dunkirk is a City in Chautauaua County New York.  It has a population of nearly 12,000 residents.  This busy municipality receives its fair share of traffic violations that are returnable in the Dunkirk Town Court.

The Town Court is located at 4737 Willow Road in Dunkirk, New York with postal zip code 1448.  The court has jurisdiction over both civil and criminal matters.  It is considered a court of local jurisdiction and as such has limited power to hear cases.  The civil cases heard in this court are often referred to as small claims cases.  These can include landlord tenant disputes, small monetary contracts disputes, and local zoning code violations.  With respect to criminal cases, it can adjudicate all misdemeanor matter
