Driving While Distracted Study Reports . . .

Our Yonkers Ticket Defense Lawyers have represented thousands of driver's throughout New York State. Recently, we have noticed an increase in tickets being issued for driving while distracted charges such as texting while driving.

Some driver's are critical of the increased ticketing. They have said the tickets are a money grab and texting while driving does not affect their ability to drive.

To the contrary, according to a study, using advanced technologies such as a voice activated device in a car while driving does not eliminate the risk of danger.

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety conducted a comprehensive study related to mental distraction and driving motor skills. They found that there is a direct relationship to driving while distracted and the decrease in physical reaction time. As such, a person’s manual dexterity can be critically compromised. For example, the split second delay in reaction could cause an accident because of a driver’s inability to react in a timely fashion.
