Yonkers Criminal Law Update: Inspector Charged with Bribery

A City of Yonkers plumbing inspector has been charged with receiving a bribe.  According to the felony complaint, the Ardsley resident accepted a bribe while in his official public capacity.

Prosecutors indicate that the bribe was solicited and accepted on November 22, 2011.  The bribe was precipitated by an indication that a plumbing job would not pass inspection.  The plumber contacted law enforcement and an investigation was initiated. 

The investigation revealed that the inspector accepted $100.00 in exchange for a plumbing permit.
