The Lloyd Traffic Court is nestled in the bucolic county of
Ulster a few miles north of New York City. It receives a large number of traffic tickets from drivers
on the local roads such as Route 9W.
About The Court:
The court employs two part time judges. They are responsible for the functionality and operation of
the court. They take turns
handling the various court calendars.
Lloyd Town Court is considered a court of local
jurisdiction. It has the power to
adjudicate civil, criminal, and traffic cases. It has jurisdiction over civil cases with a maxiumum of
$3,000.00 in controversy. It has
jurisdiction over criminal misdemeanors.
Although this court can have some contact with felony matters, the
majority of criminal cases are limited to misdemeanors. It has jurisdiction over all traffic
ticket matters written within its Town borders.
Location: the
court is located at 12 Church Street, Suite 2, 2nd Floor - Rear of Building
Entrance, in Highland, NY 12528.
Hours of Operation:
The court is staffed from Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Court is Held: Court is held on Tuesday at 4:00 pm, Wednesday,
Alternating Wednesday Court Sessions, Thursday at 3:00 pm and on an as needed
basis.
