FAQs
Where is the court located?
Is there parking available at the court?
Yes. The court has an adequate parking lot outside of
the courthouse.
I’ve never been to court, what should I bring?
Under most circumstances, a driver’s
first court appearance will be a pre-trial conference. You should bring your court
notice and any exhibits you wish to submit to the court.
At the pre-trial conference, will I be able to submit my exhibits
into evidence?
No. You can show your supporting documents to the prosecutor but
the court will not take anything into evidence at this conference. Having these exhibits on hand may be persuasive in arguing your case.
Will the State Trooper that issued my ticket be present in court?
The New York State Troopers are not
required to appear in court for a pre-trial conference. The Troopers are only required to
appear for trial.
