Lake Traffic Court, you are not alone.

and highways of Indian Lake.
However, less than 1% of all drivers ticketed will every fight their
case with an experienced traffic ticket attorney. This mistake could cost a driver hundreds and perhaps
thousands of dollars in fines, penalties, insurance increases, and lost time.
We Can Help
Our award winning speeding ticket defense law firm has
helped thousands of drivers just like you. We have helped limit our client’s exposure to fines,
penalties, and points on their license.

Stay Home
The vast majority of drivers that hire our law firm will not
be required to appear in court. Although
it is up to the court’s discretion, the majority of tickets can be resolved
with the driver executing an “authorization to appear.” This gives our attorneys the power to
make binding decisions without the driver appearing in court.
I Have Questions
Fighting a pro-se ticket in Indian Lake can pose many
challenges to drivers. The initial
ticket provides drivers with more questions than answers. In particular, nowhere on the ticket
does it state how many points a driver is facing and how much is the fine.
How Many Points Am
I Facing?
Speeding tickets can range from a three-point violation to
an eleven-point violation. The
number of points assessed against a license depends on the mile per hour above
the speed limit.
This chart will help you determine the number of points you
are facing.

How Much Is My
Fine?
The judge sets the fine for a speeding ticket. The judge is allowed to take many
factors under consideration including but not limited a driver’s abstract, the
recommendation of the prosecutor, and the circumstances surrounding the
issuance of the ticket.
The New York Legislature set parameters for sentencing and
created a ceiling and ground floor for the fines.
If a driver is a repeat offender, the court can impose an
increased fine.
For first time offenders facing a VTL 1180(b) or a VTL 1180(d), the fine can be as high as
$300.00 or $600.00.
In addition, New York State will impose a mandatory surcharge. The surcharge is additional monies that
will be paid directly to the State. The fines can be doubled for work zone violations.
