A conviction to a speeding ticket can result in a minimum of three points and a maximum of 11 points on a driver's license.  The amount of a driver's points will depend on the rate of speed assessed to the driver.  

A driver is given a total of 10 points in an 18-month period.  Upon receipt of the 11th point, the driver's privilege to drive will be suspended.

Note, there are many reasons a driver's privilege to drive can be suspended or revoked in New York.  This can include but not be limited to a speeding conviction.  As such, it is important to have a thorough understanding of your driving history before entering a plea.
