MOUNT PLEASANT TRAFFIC TICKET GUIDE

OFFICIAL GUIDE TO VALHALLA TRAFFIC COURT

Over the years, I have made thousands of appearances in traffic courts around New York State.  Of all the courts I have appeared, Mt. Pleasant (also known as Valhalla Court) must be one of the busiest.  This is partially attributable to the large number of traffic violations that are made returnable to this court.  The Town of Mt. Pleasant is located in the center of Westchester County.  It has several major highways running through the heart of the municipality.  Two of these highways include the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Sprain Brook Parkway.  These major thoroughfares accommodate thousands of drivers each day and they are vigilantly patrolled by law enforcement.  As a result, many drivers are issued tickets returnable to this court.

THE LAW

Mt. Pleasant Town Court receives large number tickets written under the Vehicle Traffic Law.  These tickets can include speeding ticket violations and following too closely violations.  Many of the tickets adjudicated in this court can carry points against a license, monetary fines, and significant insurance increases.

Speeding tickets and other moving violations can be written under similar statutes such as the Town Code, Parkway Rules and Regs, and Thruway Regulations.
